WAYNE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — The Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department is back in service after being closed for a week due to not filing the required paperwork to their insurance carriers, according to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Dunlow VFD – in Wayne County – had a lapse in its workers’ comp coverage and was closed on May 30, the WVSFMO said.
The office said the Mason Volunteer Fire Department was closed between May 28 and 30 for the same issue.
This is the second time this year the Dunlow VFD has been temporarily out of service. The first instance happened at the end of March. They were closed for two weeks due to lack of insurance.
