CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the emancipation of slaves during the Civil War, is just around the corner. But will you still be getting mail that day?
According to a press release from the United States Postal Service, post offices across the country will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. As a result, there will be no deliveries made to street or Post Office Box addresses. Priority Mail Express services will still run.
All services will resume on Thursday, June 20, which is West Virginia Day.

If you need postal service on June 19, you can use the Self-Service Kiosk available at select locations. You can find the nearest one to you by visiting the USPS website.
On top of being a federal holiday as declared by President Joe Biden in 2021, Gov. Jim Justice also declared last week that Juneteenth 2024 will be a state holiday in West Virginia.
