MEIGS COUNTY, OH (WOWK) – One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
The victim, who was identified as Michael McFarland, 31, of Oak Hill, was traveling on US Route 33 when the crash happened around 1:15 p.m.
The vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway striking an embankment, a tree and overturned, according to OSHP. McFarland was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
According to OSHP, McFarland was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
