CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — A Nitro man was arrested Friday after he allegedly drugged two people then solicited them for sexual material, including a 16-year-old girl.
According to the criminal complaint, the male victim told police that he and his 16-year-old girlfriend, the female victim, were invited to the Main Avenue residence of Anthony Todd Watson, 27, of Nitro, on May 11.
The female victim had previously helped set up a job interview between the male victim and Watson, who was the manager of a Nitro McDonalds.
The two victims arrived at Watson’s residence, and upon entry, Watson allegedly offered the female victim a pink pill and said “you need to take this.” After she declined, Watson handed the female victim an open beer that was pink in color and told her to drink it, according to the complaint. The female victim accepted the drink, then Watson told the male victim to sip the drink, which he also accepted.
The male victim told police that he was offered a vape that, after consumption, he realized contained Delta 8 THC. Both victims later noticed that they felt nauseous and had dilated eyes.
Watson then allegedly offered money to the male victim for sexually explicit pictures or videos of the both victims. The complaint said Watson also asked if the couple wanted to have sex in his bedroom while he recorded it.
The male victim contacted his mother, who picked the pair up from the residence. Both victims went to the hospital in Putnam County believing they had been drugged.
The female victim provided an officer with a video showing her dilated eyes and a picture of the couple on Watson’s couch, according to the complaint. The male victim’s mother said she witnessed the pair’s dilated eyes when she picked the two up.
The male victim’s toxicology report showed that he had ecstasy, amphetamines, benzodiazepines and THC in his system.
On June 2, Nitro Police executed a search warrant on Watson’s residence, confiscating several alcoholic drinks, an iPhone and two laptops. Watson was then taken to the Nitro Police Department for questioning.
According to the complaint, Watson told police that he offered the female victim an anti-depressant and admitted to offering the pair an alcoholic drink. He also said that the drink the two sipped from contained ecstasy purchased from a co-worker and an anti-depressant. He told police it was “a one-time thing” and that the beer was “meant for himself,” the complaint said. Watson also said also he jokingly asked the female victim for feet pictures.
According to the complaint, Watson said that he had purchased inappropriate pictures from a 14-15 year old girl but deleted them when he discovered her age. He also showed officers a group he had accessed on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which officers found child pornography.
Watson has been charged with two counts of attempting to kill or injure by poison and is being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash only bail.
