CROSS LANES, WV (WOWK) — The National Temperature Service (NWS) confirmed that an EF2 twister, achieving wind speeds up to 115 miles for each hour, touched down in Cross Lanes and took an 8 mile non-constant path down near Sissonville Tuesday.
13 Information went to Morning Dove Lane, Concealed Cove and Glow Avenue, all neighborhoods affected in Cross Lanes, to see how serious the hurt was.
Residents described the neighborhood as ground zero for the twister, with trees scattered all throughout house owners lawns and some landing on prime of rooftops.

A number of ability traces broke as well, delaying the return of electrical services to homes in the space. There in which also two trees that fell and blocked roads in the community.
One particular resident 13 News spoke with stated that the storm reminded him of a basic movie.
“On the lookout by way of the kitchen window, (it was like) Wizard of Oz. Things going sideways, items of roofing and large tree branches. And, it was 90 degrees, straight out. It was not slipping down it was likely sideways. The wind was so loud. There was a awful howl,” Dan Huston, a longtime resident of the community, mentioned.
Another resident 13 Information spoke with was a firefighter in Cross Lanes, who was preparing to reply to unexpected emergency phone calls when the storm hit.
“The tornado siren had been going off, so I figured we had been going to start getting some calls. I ran upstairs to improve, and I heard the glass shatter downstairs. When I arrived back again down, all the trees were down close to the household. A single experienced busted as a result of the front window,” firefighter Jason Caltrider said. “I went exterior and noticed that (the storm) experienced uprooted various trees, taken out the privateness fence and my chain hyperlink fence.”
This community is leaning on every single other for support by the storm’s aftermath. Caltrider claimed that he has neighbors, relatives and close friends coming to assist him clear up the mess the storm still left behind.
