Sinha made this statement while chairing a meeting of the Higher Education Council at Raj Bhawan.
During the meeting, Sinha highlighted the significant steps taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Council over the past two years for comprehensive and holistic transformation. He noted that due to these positive reforms, higher educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir are gaining recognition.
“I believe that collaboration among our Vice Chancellors, both within Jammu and Kashmir and outside, is essential to enhance the higher education sector and develop a futuristic roadmap,” he remarked.
Sinha emphasised the need to create a positive environment in the Higher Education Department to dispel negativity and fear among stakeholders and students.
Addressing the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020), Sinha expressed satisfaction with the progress made and stressed the importance of garnering national and international recognition for the efforts undertaken.
He praised the “Design Your Degree” initiative as a valuable tool to support students in higher education.
During the meeting, Sinha directed the authorities to initiate the teaching of Indian Philosophy in all universities of Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring its importance.
“The Higher Education Department should comprehensively assess the outcomes of its initiatives,” he added, stressing the need for thorough evaluation in all aspects, not just financial ones.
