CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — A block party full of free food, music, games and entertainment was held at the Roosevelt Center on Ruffner Avenue in Charleston Wednesday afternoon.
The East End Resource Center hosted the event. In addition to the many ways to be entertained, the center hosted a health fair for the community.

“I found a whole new family with my senior citizens here on the East End and the information that we bring to this community has already helped to save said,” said Karen Williams, Coordinator with the East End Resource Center.
The block party started at noon and went to 6 p.m., and is sponsored by the City of Charleston Parks and Recreation, Step by Step and the Senior Program of the East End Resource Center.
