CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – West Virginia Governor Jim Justice will be on the November ballot for the 2024 US Senate race.
Justice will go head-to-head with the winner of the Democratic Primary. The governor defeated U.S. Congressman Alex Mooney in the Republican Primary.
The governor first announced his intent to run for U.S. Senate in April 2023. The governor was ineligible for this year’s gubernatorial race as he has already served two consecutive terms.
As of May 8, an exclusive 13 News/Emerson College poll showed Justice had more than double the support of challenger Rep. Alex Mooney in the GOP U.S. Senate race.
The seat is currently held by U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), who announced in November 2023 that he would not seek re-election this year.
