MADISON, WV (WOWK) – The West Virginia Coal Festival kicked off in Madison Tuesday, and this year, the festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary!
From wild and wonderful song and dance, to West Virginia cuisine, the Coal Festival is all about celebrating state heritage and culture. It’s all happening on Main Street through Saturday with different headliners each night.
The festival has something in store for everyone from vendors and games to live music and, of course, the carnival!
Amid the celebration, the community takes a moment during the opening ceremonies to pay respects to the profession so many West Virginians are proud of and that we appreciate – coal miners who keep the lights on.
